Intensive In-Home Treatment Program Team

Who does an In-Home Treatment Team consist of?
 
The treatment team consists of two people: The lead team member possesses a Master's degree in social work or a related mental health field and is Medical Assistance billable. The second team member possesses a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field. The larger team consists of the youth, primary caregiver, county social worker, school officials, and all other professionals working with the child.
 

Team Member Bios

Cristie Harbour, MSCristie Harbour, MS

Cristie is currently the Executive Co-Director/Founder of Foundations Counseling Center Inc where she splits her time between administrative duties, outpatient therapy and occasionally an intensive In-Home case as well.

Cristie has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from UW-Superior and Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from UW- Whitewater. She has been providing Intensive In-Home therapy services for over 17 years and has been a certified Medical Assistance mental health provider for over eighteen years.

Cristie's prior career experience includes thirteen years of county human service work including: crisis counseling, court-commitment supervision, child-abuse and neglect investigations, and ongoing child abuse and neglect and delinquency case management. Before starting Foundations, she also had five years of experience in the private sector providing clinical supervision, and administrative duties, including the development of an intensive In-Home program. In total, Cristie has over eighteen years of experience providing and administrating intensive In-Home family therapy services.

Alisa Kelly-Martina, MSSW, LCSWAlisa Kelly-Martina, MSSW, LCSW

Alisa is currently the Executive Co-Director and Founder of Foundations Counseling Center Inc.

Alisa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and Spanish and has a Master's Degree in Social Work from UW-Madison. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a certified Medical Assistance provider in the state of Wisconsin.

Alisa has eleven years of experience working in the Clinical Social Work field. In addition to her work as a Primary Intensive In-Home Counselor, Alisa's career experience includes working as a Clinical Case Manager for foster children and as a supervisor for treatment foster parents. She also has experience providing outpatient counseling, working with uninsured hospital patients, including Spanish speaking patients, providing crisis counseling for non-profit homeless and domestic violence shelters, and coordinating wrap-around services to severely emotionally disturbed youth and their families.

Katie Letcher, Office ManagerKatie Letcher, Office Manager

Katie joined Foundations Counseling Center in December 2005. She started with Foundations as a part time employee and went to full time in 2008. Katie is always upbeat, helpful and ready to answer any questions you may have.

In her spare time Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. She is actively involved in the Albany Parent Teacher Organization and is a Daisy Girl Scout leader for her daughter's troop

Bobbi Jo Nichols, MSSW, LCSW, SAC, in trainingBobbi Jo (BJ) Nichols, MSSW, LCSW, SAC, in training

Bobbi Jo has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from UW-Eau Claire and a Master's Degree in Social Work from UW-Madison where she specialized in mental health and substance abuse/dual diagnosis.

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Substance Abuse Counselor in training.

Prior to obtaining her MSSW, BJ worked with persons with disabilities and has been a volunteer for over seven years with Special Olympics. She has experience as an after school club coordinator for at-risk youth. More current work experience includes working as a juvenile delinquency worker and as a substance abuse counselor for adolescents and their families. Her focus areas include dual diagnoses and substance abuse counseling. BJ joined Foundations in September 2005, and became a Medical Assistance certified provider and a Primary In-Home Family Therapist for us in January, 2007.

Tammy Conrad, MS, LMFTTammy Conrad, MS, LMFT

Tammy received an Associate Degree in Human Services from MATC, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Upper Iowa University and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy from Edgewood College.

Before starting with Foundations in July of 2006, Tammy had been a Primary In-Home Therapist since 1989. Tammy's career achievement's are vast, but most impressive are her activity with FAST where she is a Certified National Trainer and just returned from a four month training experience in England. She has also been a guest lecturer at Edgewood College, and is working on becoming an AAMFT approved supervisor.

Amanda Crabtree, MSW, APSWAmanda Crabtree, MSW, APSW

Amanda is a Secondary Intensive In-Home Therapist with a Master's Degree in Social Work. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services and Spanish. Amanda joined Foundation's staff in October 2004 as our second employee.

Amanda has experience working at a residential treatment facility in California with youth who had severe emotional disabilities and also has experience working with a domestic violence shelter and community support programs in the Fox Valley area.
 
Amanda's personal interests include outdoor activities and international travel.

Sarah Olson, MSCSarah Olson, MSC

Sarah has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Masters of Counseling Education degree both from U.W. Platteville. Sarah graduated from her Master's program in May of 2006. While in graduate school, Sarah was a resident assistant, Peer Health Educator, and later a program director at the student dorms.

Sarah has experience at a residential treatment center for youth in Dubuque. She also did her graduate internship with Lutheran Social Services' In-Home program. She started with Foundations in July of 2006 as a Secondary Therapist; she is now a Primary In-Home Therapist with Foundations.

Jeff Schiffman, M.D.Jeff Schiffman, M.D.

Jeff did his residency in psychiatry at the University of Miami. After graduating and moving to Madison, he split his time between Sauk County Department of Human Services and Madison Psychiatric Associates, Ltd. as staff psychiatrist for seven years.

At the present time, he works with Madison Psychiatric Associates, the VA Hosptial and at Foundations Counseling Center Inc.

Dr. Schiffman specializes in addictions and dual diagnoses with adolescents and adults. Dr. Schiffman is in the Foundations' office in Belleville one Friday a month for psychiatric assessments, case consultation and staff supervision.

Michelle Zettle-Bruegger, MSC, APSWMichelle Zettle-Bruegger, MSC, APSW

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Counseling Education degrees from U.W. Oshkosh. Michelle earned her Master's degree in 1992.

Following graduation Michelle started her career at Green County Human Services as an In-Home therapist. She provided In-Home therapy for Green County families for two years before transferring to the County's outpatient unit. Prior to joining Foundations in July 2006 as a Primary In-Home Therapist, Michelle was the Supervisor of the Child Protection Unit at Iowa County Human Services where she not only supervised their social work staff but she also served on Iowa County's Family Preservation Task Force.

Michelle recently became a nationally certified RTS Bereavement Therapist and she is working on receiving training on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

Wendy Eames, MS, LPC Wendy Eames, MS, LPC

Wendy is a Primary In-Home Therapist, who earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Human Services and a Master's Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Wendy has been with Foundations since April 2007. She comes to Foundations with 3 years prior in-home experience.

In addition to her In-Home Counseling positions, Wendy has outpatient and group counseling experience working as a Runaway and Youth Services Program Coordinator as well as experience working with clients with Developmental Disabilities.

Jason Artz, MSE Jason Artz, MSE

Jason received his Bachelor's degree is Psychology and Criminal Justice from UW-Platteville in 2004. In 2007 he received his Master's in Counselor Education from UW-Platteville as well.

Jason completed his Master's practicum at Foundations and officially started employment with the agency in June of 2007 as a Secondary In-Home Therapist. When he has free time from helping families, Jason enjoys on and off road motorcycling, camping, frequenting antique shops, and listening to classic rock. He is a member of Amnesty International, and participates in online activist work. His areas of interest in counseling and psychology include working with individuals with schizophrenia and the use of religion in therapy, GLBT issues, as well as the effects of media on adolescents. Jason is also working on receiving training on Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Justin Woodward, MFTJustin Woodward, MFT

Justin joined us from Edgewood College's Marriage and Family Therapy program. He graduated with his Master's Degree in May of 2007. Justin did his internship at Foundations so he has been with us since September 2006.

Justin started as a Secondary Therapist with BJ Nichols and is now a Primary In-Home Therapist.

Nyle Biondi, MFTNyle Biondi, MFT

Nyle joined Foundations in May 2008. Nyle has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Earlham College, and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in May 2007.

Prior to working at Foundations, Nyle spent two years working in a vocational agency providing services to adults with developmental disabilities, and four years as a special education assistant in an elementary school. Nyle completed internships at The Family Center and The Parental Stress Center in Madison.

Danna Hamlett, MFTDanna Hamlett, MFT

Danna joined Foundations as a Secondary In-Home therapist in May 2008. She received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in May of 2007. Danna brings experience working with children on the Autism spectrum in both the home and social settings.

Danns'a personal interests include knitting, camping, Nintendo, snowboarding, and her dog, Gehry.

Erin Heckelsmiler, MFTErin Heckelsmiler, MFT

Erin came to Foundations in May 2007 as a clinical intern and was officially hired on in May 2008. Erin is a Secondary Intensive In-Home Therapist in Rock, Dane and Jefferson counties. Erin received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Sociology at Wayne State College in Nebraska and completed her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College in May 2008.

Nick Witter, BSNick Witter, BS

Nick joined the Foundations team in May 2007 when he started as a volunteer intern and mentor, working his way up to a Secondary Team Member intern. Nick was officially hired on in October 2008 as a Secondary In-Home Team Member for Iowa, Green and Lafayette Counties.

Nick received his Bachelor's of Science degree from U.W. Madison in May of 2007. He is planning to go on to get a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in the near future.

In his spare time, Nick enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.

Sarah Splinter, MSWSarah Splinter, MSW

Sarah received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Cardinal Stritch College. She received her Master's Degree in Social Work from U.W. Milwaukee in 2002. Before joining Foundations in December of 2008 as a Primary In-Home Therapist, Sarah worked as a therapist in a residential center working first with female sexual abuse survivors and later with male sex offenders.

Sarah has work experience working with a variety of behavioral and mental health issues including Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, self harming behaviors and Mood Disorders.

Courtney Itzen, BSCourtney Itzen, BS

Courtney joined the Foundations team as a Secondary Intensive In-Home Team Member in April 2009. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology at the U.W. Whitewater in May 2006. Courtney has previous work experience at a residential treatment center working with severely emotionally disordered and at-risk male and female adolescents. Most recently Courtney has had experience working at Roger's Memorial Hospital with adolescents and adults struggling with Eating Disorders. In the near future, Courtney is looking to pursue her Master's Degree in the field of therapy.

In her free time, Courtney enjoys reading, music, knitting, and outdoor activities.

Donna Fisher, MSDonna Fisher, MS

Donna graduated with a Master's Degree in Counseling from UW-Whitewater in May, 2008. Studies focused on community counseling and marriage and family therapy. She is a National Certified Counselor.

Before joining Foundations in April of 2009, Donna worked as a crisis counselor with adolescents, teens and their families in the Rockford, IL area. She also has several years of work experience as an in-home parent educator and has taught parenting classes, helping parents focus on their strengths while learning new parenting skills.

In her spare time, Donna enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.

Angela R. Myhre, MS, LMFTAngela R. Myhre, MS, LMFT

Angela earned an Associate Degree from Madison Area Technical College, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology & Criminal Justice Certification from U.W. Madison. Angela graduated from Edgewood College with her Master of Science in Marriage & Family Therapy and is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Certified Prepare – Enrich Counselor.

Angela is a Primary In-home Therapist with Foundations, joining our staff in February of 2009. Angela is experienced in providing pre-marital and marital assessments, as well as Family Systems based therapy for individuals, couples and families. Angela also has experience working with involuntary and culturally diverse clientele, both individually and in a group setting, utilizing a Cognitive Behavioral treatment approach.

Jennifer Kempfert, MS MFTJennifer Kempfert, MS MFT

Jennifer earned her Bachelor's of Arts Degree from U.W. Madison in 2005. She is also an Edgewood alumni, graduating with her Master's of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in May 2008. Jen also started as an intern here at Foundations in May 2007, completing her internship in May of 2008. Jen was then hired on to our staff as a Secondary In-Home Therapist in December 2008.

Jen has volunteered in a variety of capacities from caring for the elderly, to youth group leader and mentor. Jen has a number of years experience working in the sexual abuse field both as a prevention educator and a counselor to sexual assault survivors. Jen is also a Certified Skydiving Instructor and loves spending time jumping whenever possible.

Stephani Nicholas, MFTStephani Nicholas, MFT

Stephani started at Foundations as a student intern in May of 2008. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Lake Forest College in Illinois and graduated with her Master's in Science from Edgewood's Marriage and Family Therapy program in May of 2009. Stephani joined Foundations on May 11th, 2009 as our newest Secondary In-Home Therapist.

Stephani has been a nanny, has taught as an assistant teacher at a Montessori school and she has also been involved in therapeutic equestrian programs.

Amanda Penning, MSSW, APSWAmanda Penning, MSSW, APSW

Amanda earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Minnesota State University, Mankato and graduated with her Masters Degree in Social Work from U.W. Madison in May of 2009. She started at Foundations as a student intern in September of 2008 and completed her internship in May of 2009. She was hired on as a Secondary In-Home Therapist in October of 2009.

Amanda has several years experience working as a nanny and a camp counselor and program director for an all girls' camp in Northern Wisconsin. Amanda completed her Bachelor's Social Work internship as a School Social Work Intern and facilitated anger management, divorce and social skills groups for elementary children. She also has experience working in the sexual abuse field as a group facilitator for child survivors.

It her spare time, Amanda likes to spend time with her family, be outdoors and go camping.
